Booking Fee

In order to book a given service and save a time slot in my schedule, the Client agrees to sign a service agreement and pay a nonrefundable booking fee, which is 50% of the estimated total project fee. If the estimated total project fee is a range, the Client’s booking fee will be calculated from the lower end of that range.

The Client will be invoiced at the completion of the Editor’s services for the total amount minus the booking fee.

Payment

All payments are quoted in USD, to be paid via PayPal, and made within 14 days of the invoice date.

Please note that until I receive payment in full, I retain copyright ownership of the work done on the Client’s manuscript. This means that no journal or publisher can legally publish the work if the Client has not paid in full. Additionally, any payment made after the due date is subject to a 5% monthly interest fee. Once full payment is received, I automatically relinquish any copyright claims to the work.

If you cannot adhere to the payment schedule, it is your responsibility to inform me. I will make every effort to develop a payment schedule that both of us can agree to.

Delivery

I agree to complete and deliver my services within the agreed upon time frame.

However I cannot be held responsible for deadlines missed due to lack of communication from the Client; or uncontrollable circumstances such as severe sickness, hospitalizations, family emergencies, or natural disasters.

Cancellation

  • If the Client terminates the agreement before I’ve begun work on the project, the booking fee will not be refunded, but no other fees will be charged.
  • If the Client terminates the agreement after I’ve started working on the project, the booking fee will not be refunded and the Client will be charged for the work completed.  
  • If I request to change the agreement due to extenuating circumstances, every effort will be made to reschedule deadlines, renegotiate fees, or alter the scope of work. If we can’t come to an agreement, I will refund the booking fee and no additional fees will be charged.
  • If I determine that the Client’s work is a result of plagiarism, I reserve the right to terminate the agreement immediately. The booking fee will not be refunded and the Client will be charged for the the work completed. 

Refunds

I have a no-refund policy. All payments made by the Client to the Editor are final and nonrefundable.
